‘For me personally, mosaic is about creating something beautiful
from broken objects’

Alison Gordon

At seagulls we are always evolving, developing new ideas and offering new resources. In 2007 our mosaic workshops have really taken off.

Seagulls mosaic is a result of the hard work of Alison, Seagulls Volunteer Arts Coordinator. Alison is a true community artist and has a passion for working with discarded objects and materials and disengaged people and communities. We believe Alison is the Queen of Mosaic!

In August 2007 we received funding from Mosaic Markets (a European funded initiative) enabling us to concentrate our efforts and establish a mosaic workshop area at Seagulls. For some time now we have been receiving donations of leftover tiles, grout and adhesive and Alison has been passing on the mosaic vibe, so a small cash injection has propelled Seagulls mosaic to a much wider audience.
