About Mosaic

Seagulls Mosaic and Community Arts

Seagulls deliver mosaic workshops, mural projects and site specific public art. We promote mosaic making and other artistic activities to support local development and improve people's quality of life. We firmly believe in encouraging people to explore and express their own creativity and through our workshops we have continually found that everyone can enjoy art. A key objective of our work is the empowerment of community or group members, bringing them together to create something that they can all be proud of.

Our artists have collaborated with a wide variety of local agencies and groups. We have worked in close partnership with Leeds Housing Federation, Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Groundwork Leeds, Teenager Cancer Trust and Barnardos, amongst others. We have also brought mosaic-making to many schools and community groups, creating a series of mosaics for playgrounds, community gardens, and several other urban spaces.

If you represent a school, a group or an organisation and are interested in engaging people in creating a lasting piece of art whilst learning new skills don't hesitate to contact us. No job is too big or too small. You name it and together we'll make it!

All of our artists have undergone an enhanced CRB check.

Quotes

"The mosaic workshop held at the Learning with Life Network launch was a great success. Everyone in attendance; young people with disabilities, stall holders, teachers, parents and carers all contributed. The workshop was active for the whole day long and was particularly popular with the young people who may normally show challenging behaviours at such an event. The outcome was great too; we now have a wonderful sign for the network, made piece by piece by all the network members."

Leeds City Council

"The Mosaic project was well received by year 10 pupils at City of Leeds High School. The students did the work towards their ASDAN qualification in Community Work, the project allowed the young people to become an active part of the community and helped encourage the residents to see the young people in a more positive light, thanks very much to Angela and Seagulls for a fantastic project."

"Every one loves the Mosaics workshop, patients, families, friends, nurses and cleaners! The workshop was just for a few months over the summer, but the patients so look forward to Angela coming every week, that we have kept it going for weekly sessions and are looking forward to the Christmas workshops! Thank you from all the staff and patients on the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit - LGI."
